Supplier Diversity

Diversity Mission Statement
Gateway celebrates diversity by ensuring an environment that promotes respect and values differences among all employees, members, providers and the community. Gateway provides opportunities that foster understanding through open communication and education, optimize health outcomes for all members and build cultural competence of staff and key stakeholders.

Supplier Diversity Program
Gateway HealthSM‘s Supplier Diversity Program, coordinated through the Finance Department, enables us to partner with minority and women-owned enterprises.  It is one way for us to impact and nurture the health of local businesses and community growth.

Gateway HealthSM staff have worked over the years to increase our MBE/WBE-owned spend incrementally and are committed to continuing our search for competent, business partners who excel in their field, can meet our business needs, and help us enhance our process.

We maintain memberships in organizations that support the growth and development of Minority and Women businesses, participating in networking, outreach and national conferences, to continually identify potential partners with whom to do business.

Eligibility and Requirements
To participate in Gateway HealthSM‘s Supplier Diversity Program, a business must be a verified self-certified or certified as a minority, woman-owned, or disadvantaged business enterprise (MWDBE).  A MWDBE is defined as a business that is owned, controlled and operated by a minority, woman or disadvantaged group member.  Certification typically requires the following:

  • Must be located in the U.S. or its territories
  • Owner must be a U.S. citizen
