On November 18th a change was made to include each claim line’s “Allowed Amount” on the HIPAA 835 Electronic Remittance Advice.
The Allowed Amount field in accordance with HIPAA guidelines will display at the claim level in Loop 2100 segment AMT02 when segment AMT01 = AU. The Allowed Amount field for the service line level will display in Loop 2110 segment AMT02 when segment AMT01 = B6.
An issue occurred where the decimal point was incorrectly applied in the Allowed Amount calculation. This issue resulted in the Allowed Amount displaying as an incorrect inflated value. Please be assured that this was corrected as of November 29th. If this field is impeding your ability to post these electronic remittances from November 18th – November 28th, regenerated remittances will be issued and resubmitted to the clearinghouses on or before December 2nd.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
